At the weekend we headed along to the Bronx Zoo to check out
their spooktacular Boo at the Zoo event.
The annual celebration runs every weekend through October
and the zoo really goes all out with family friendly Halloween themed activities. You’ll find;
Jack O ‘Lantern displays
Costume Parades
Hay Maze
Pumpkin Carving
Treat Stations
Creepy Crafts
Music and Magic Shows
And that’s not to mention the animals! The Bronx Zoo has 265
acres of wildlife habitats and attractions. We have made many visits and still
haven’t discovered it all. There are hundreds of animals our
favourites include the giraffes, grizzly bears, gorillas and tigers.
We also really love the Wild Asia Monorail as its from here
that you get to see the elephants, the camel ride is rather bumpy but so much
fun and the bug carousel is always popular!
The Bronx Zoo is quite the trek for us from here in
Brooklyn, but it’s always certainly worth it.
You can drive or the 2 and 5 subway is nearby.
We have a family membership, which gives us unlimited access
to all the New York zoos and the Aquarium. If you live in the New York area and
have kids – I think this membership is a must! If you are just visiting you can
buy your tickets online in advance. You save 10% and beat the lines at the
gate.

event on their website.
