View from the other side

Before New York got too cold *burrr* we decided to head across the river and spend some time admiring the city we adore from over in New Jersey.

From the World Financial Centre you can take a NY Waterway ferry across the Hudson to Paulus Hook in only 6 minutes, making New Jersey closer than you think!

You’ll then find a handy Light Rail system to take you from here to Liberty State Park. This park is huge (and surprisingly very quiet), so you can take a long walk away from the hussle without traveling too far. While enjoying one of the longer walkways in the park you are treated to views over to Liberty and Ellis Islands. Ellis Island is so close its also connected to the mainland by a bridge.

Needless to say, there are photo opportunities aplenty!

By far the most impressive part of the day for our little guy was the playground at Liberty State Park. It was large enough for him to burn off some energy while mummy and daddy enjoyed stunning views of Manhattan. We definitely want to come back with a picnic in the summer.

When heading back we stumbled across Liberty House a lovely restaurant with ample outdoor seating with stunning vistas over the city, not to mention great food. It's definitely on the list for when things warm up again next year.

If you fancy heading across for an adventure of you own you can check the ferry times on the NY Waterway website

Hope you enjoy our snaps from the day!

We came for the views!

Up close to the Colgate Clock.

Did you brush your teeth today young man?

Lovely long walkways.

Even the little guy enjoyed the view of NYC.

I see you!

He always finds a playground.

Liberty State Park. A playground with a view.

He could of stayed here all day.

Having so much fun.... he put on a show for us!

Giant chess... keeping kids of all ages entertained!

Chess time!
