Earlier this month me and the baby had a girls day out and we attended the New York Baby Show! It was my first time at the event and it was completely amazing!
If you are expecting a baby or have a
little one and live in the New York area then this show is a must! It can be
quite overwhelming with so many baby products out there. But at the show you
get to browse all the latest products, speak to the brand reps, lean a little
bit more and make some informed choices when it comes to deciding what to buy.
Not to mention there are seminars with
industry experts offering impartial advice and some trial mommy and me classes.
I really struggled to pick out my favorites
from the event as there were so many amazing people and products, however here
are my top 3 picks from the 2018 New York Baby Show.
1. Anjie and Ash
Stylish! The stainless steel teething necklace. |
As every mom with a teething baby knows,
they will try and chew on anything and everything to get some relief! Teething
friendly jewellery has been around for a little while now, and I’m a big fan. I
have several silicone necklaces that my baby (and her little friends actually)
quite enjoy chewing on while I hold them. They also look pretty stylish too.
So at the NYBS I was drawn to the Anjie andAsh stand to check out their mom/baby jewellery styles. They had some gorgeous
silicone necklaces, but I was surprised to see a stainless steel teething
necklace.
The necklace is so stylish you would hardly
realize it is designed for a teething baby. Check out the necklace here on their website.
Made from type 304 food-grade stainless
steel, the necklace is non-toxic and features a breakaway magnetic clasp. The
cool steel is soothing on babies sore gums, in fact you can even pop it in the
fridge for extra cooling comfort.
I love this necklace, I even wore it to
celebrate my daughters first birthday at the weekend and most importantly she
gave it the ‘chew’ of approval too.
2. Love To Dream
I love the way the nurses at the hospital
snuggle the babies up into a tight swaddle, but as soon as you get home and try
to replicate the swaddle yourself it’s never as good right? Arms and legs are
flying everywhere and the baby just wriggles out and wakes up.
Love To Dream have the Swaddle Up swaddles
which allow newborns to feel secure and swaddled but also sleep in their natural
position with the ability to bring their arms up next to their mouths. The
swaddles are so easy as you just zip them up, no need to mess around in the
middle of the night trying to create your own swaddle! They also have easy access for diaper changes, I don't need to tell you how useful that is! Plus babies just look
adorable in them, make sure you check out their website here to find out more.
Love To Dream also help to promote safe
sleep to families. While choosing the right swaddle for your babies age they
also give useful information about things you can do to help reduce the risk of
SIDS. More info on their site here.
At the NYBS I was able to upgrade my
daughters swaddle. She is now 12 months old so she uses the Inventa Sleep Bag.
We got her a nice lightweight one for the hot summer nights ahead and it features a cute ice lolly print.
She sleeps
really well in it so far, its also really great for travel as although she may be sleeping in a different crib, the routine of being zipped up into her sleep bag helps her know its time to sleep.
3. La Petite Crème
I’d heard about this product but was always
a bit unsure how I’d ever give up my baby wipes. But after a recent bout of
diaper rash I thought I’d give it a try.
French moms don’t use baby wipes they use
some cotton pads and La Petite Creme. Its even what they hand out in hospitals over
there.
What I like most about the cream is the
fact it leaves a protective layer of cream behind on the baby after you have wiped
instead of the moisture a baby wipe would leave behind. So while I’m not
entirely sure I will let go of my wipes forever, if your baby (like mine) tends
to get a bit sore when teething, its good to use this before any rash arrives.
The cream is made from all natural
ingredients. Head over to their website to find out more about the alternative to baby wipes here.
Finally a big thanks to MomTrends for inviting me to the
show and giving me access to the Bloggers Lounge.
